I stayed in the Heathrow Yo!tel and it was an 'experience' to say the least. The bed was comfortable and the space was very, very well used but the 'soundprrofing' they assured us would block out all noise didn't. At all. Not helped by the fact they were willing to show people around the hotel rooms at all hours of the night (I was walked in on twice while trying to sleep).

I'm all for small rooms and would love to give those tubes a try sometime but certainly wouldn't ever advise anyone goes to the Heathrow Yo!Tel. The local travel lodge is cheaper & quieter.

Berlin has some wonderful art hotels. I just wrote about two of them - each completely different - on my blog http://www.flashnomad.com One is decorated in Art Nouvea and is the creation of a set designer turned hotelier. And, the other is Berlin's first green hotel that is an extension of the private gallery of a wonderful art curator.
