Though it's a bit outdated by now, Barkitecture, a book by Fred Albert, features all sorts of dog house designs, and I think anyone interested in these would think it a worthwhile browse.

I love houses of all kinds and I’m certainly going to bookmark this site. Thank you for taking the time to post all these wonderful pictures.

But I should point out that the picture of the cream colored house with the green shutters (right before the last pictures of the doghouses) is a Real Good Toys dollhouse modeled after Abraham Lincoln’s Springfield house and since it comes as a kit, it costs about $350 to $400, depending where you buy it. Pricey, to be sure, but not to the tune of $10,000.00.

I’m sure FAO Schwartz does charge that much to make a replica of a real house, but most miniaturists that I know prefer to buy a much cheaper kit, kit-bash it to make it unique, and then spend about $10,000 decorating and furnishing their houses to their own tastes. At least, it sure seems like $10,000. *sighs*
