Which liberties? Perhaps you could/should look to the words on the bottom of the statue for starters....no single administration has ever done so much to prevent the "tired, poor and huddled masses" of the world from coming to America to be "free".
"Oh, but they aren't American yet" you say?
Ok, how about the liberty of not being under surveilence and wire tapping despite having committed no crime....simply due to the color of your skin and your religious orientation? or even worse, god forbid we continue to allow such non-christian heathens to actually voice dissent with the nations overseas imperialistic policies. (with 13 million square miles in 89 countries and territories of military bases outside the US PLEASE try to claim we haven't built an empire of colonies just like the one we broke away from... if not worse because we haven't built schools, hospitals, airports, electricity lines, water lines, or any of the massive infrastructure that the british installed in their colonies....PLEASE)
With legislation like the ill-named "Patriot Act" in effect how could one possibly question this assertation of fact.
We as a nation have sat idly by while our liberties were stripped away by the very people we elected (in theory) to maintain them.

Referring to your comment about American Liberties being eroded by the current administration: I can't think of any liberty that is being eroded by the administration. I can think of a number of privileges that are being eroded because of the terrorists who have used our liberties against us.

Don't be naive.

*Even if this piece was the result of vandalism, it personally speaks volumes on what this current administration has done to the liberties Americans once enjoyed*

Just exactly does an act of vandalism in a foreign country - the country that incidentally gave the statue to the U.S. - `speak volumes' about the `current administration' has allegedly done to the liberties Americans once enjoyed?

And which liberties, prithee, did Americans once enjoy that they are no longer able to?
