Using a discarded boom gate, this piece seems to defy everything we know about how the medium should act. A solid wooden plank should not be able to curl into a spiral, yet it does exactly that in Robbie Rowlands’ hands. This piece is part of Rowland’s exhibit “Disintigration,” taking place October 22 to November 15 at Place Gallery (http://www.placegallery.com.au/).
