The is an entire world of winding paths, semi-hidden underground tunnels and forgotten secret passageways below our feet. Underground trains are much more than a way to get from one place to another. They represent a world entirely separate from the one we live in every day. When we walk down those stairs or ride down those escalators, we are not only delving into the underground of the city; we are entering a physically separated subculture.

Entertainers and panhandlers, graffiti artists and commuters, tourists and townies all mingle in this space beneath the city. Not all who enter the subterranean jungle do so with the purpose of getting from Point A to Point B, but while there they all exist, however briefly, in the unique environment and amazing aesthetics of this world apart.
