Banksy’s work in New Orleans was not just limited to exploring the present crisis but went beyond to address larger issues in American culture and the New Orleans community more specifically. The lost umbrella is a powerful reminder on a small scale of our fragility on a much larger scale, even as the (supposedly) most powerful nation on the planet.
