This mixed-use building packs a vast array of programs into a singular and unified but expressive spatial configuration atop a hill visible for miles around. Living, working and recreation uses are intermingled cozily under a single roof. Given the harsh climate of the region it is no surprise that the architects integrated a number of strategies to make maximum use of daylight and solar heating, particularly during the coldest winter months of the year.
