I Got It Bad
Some scenes simply leave one speechless so we’ll let My Vintage Soul voice it for us: “This ‘complex’ (actually I’m not sure what else to call it) is an eclectic mix — a traditional thrift store, a unique dollar store, a have-your-Wet-Ones-ready junk shop and a ‘vender’ mall, all in the shadow of a maximum-security prison. Yes, that’s the guard tower just over the fence.”
Inflamed Dollar Joint
When joint pain flares up, reach for that tube of mentholated liniment. When Dollar Joint shuts down, no amount of Heet can vanquish the pain. Then again, the Dollar Joint (awesome name!) on Dundas St between Dovercourt and Ossington in downtown Toronto that closed towards the end of 2012 will be re-opening as The Medicine Shoppe. No doubt they’ll stock plenty of Heet liniment to soothe the annual plague of Canadian snow-shoveling injuries.
No Great XPectations
Just as no one expects the Spanish Inquisition, nobody expected the XPect Discounts store on Universal Drive in North Haven, CT to shut its doors and throw 67 employees out into the cold. Perhaps Mike P. of Abandoned CT was one of the unlucky 67 – he claims to have worked there and has posted the photos to prove it.
