TIERRAS 3D Tile
Another three-dimensional tile design brings together several different types of lavas and soils that are chromatically compatible with each other. The designers, Mutina and Patricia Urquiola, wanted to “propose terra-cotta’s manual processing techniques,” they say. “The desire to get out of the two-dimensionality of the wall covering, results in the experimentation of the brick, giving shape to new design elements that are aesthetically beautiful and functional with endless application solution for indoor and outdoor.”
Use Everstone’s ‘Bubbles’ designs to create subtly textured glass mosaics that are especially fitting as basin and tub backsplashes in the bathroom.
Has there ever been an easier way to create a green wall? These ‘MOSStiles’ make installing living plants onto a vertical surface as easy as hanging some tiles, offered in square, rectangle and circular shapes. The stabilized lichen live off the moisture in the air, so they require little to no upkeep.
Artist Nicole Nadeau took a mold of one of her own breasts and reproduced it in ceramic to create a wholly unexpected tessellated wall installation, the individual tiles fitting together in a honeycomb pattern designed to resemble those found in nature.
