<p>Wouldn&#8217;t you rather work in a lush jungle, a surrealist space that transforms before your eyes, a space that looks like the set of a sci-fi movie or an office with a speakeasy hidden under the stairs? These 13 ultra-creative modern office designs are tailored to the identities, preferences and missions of the individual companies, prioritizing employee comfort and a sense of fun.</p>
<h4>Agoratic in Paris by Stéphane Malka</h4>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114416" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Stephane-Malka-Agoratic-Paris.gif" alt="" width="818" height="546" /></p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114415" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Stephane-Malka-Agoratic-Paris-2.gif" alt="" width="818" height="546" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114414" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Stephane-Malka-Agoratic-3.jpg" alt="" width="818" height="546" /></p>
<p>This strikingly graphic transforming space in Paris by <a href="https://www.stephanemalka.com/?page_id=2858&amp;lang=en">Stéphane Malka</a> uses a flexible partition system to open or delineate offices for computer education company Agoratic. The new space includes a variety of versatile zones that can be used as meeting rooms, digital training spaces, administrative offices and more. The effect is a little disorienting, but not in a bad way &#8211; it’s almost like the building houses untold secrets and hidden spaces waiting to be found.</p>
<h4>Cloud DCS Office in China by Arboit Limited</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114405" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/CloudDCS-Office-1.jpg" alt="" width="818" height="545" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114403" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/CloudDCS-Office-3.jpg" alt="" width="818" height="546" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114404" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/CloudDCS-Office-2.jpg" alt="" width="818" height="989" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114402" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/CloudDCS-Office-4.jpg" alt="" width="818" height="534" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114401" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Cloud-DCS-Office-5.jpg" alt="" width="818" height="545" /></p>
<p>The Cloud DCS office in China by <a href="http://www.arboit.com.hk/">Arboit</a> is a visual interpretation of the internet as a physical space, and it truly feels out of this world. The Hong Kong-based architects were commissioned to renovate the interiors of an existing 20,000 square meter industrial building, adding offices, spaces for thousands of servers, client meeting spaces and multimedia show rooms. The result looks straight off the set of a sci-fi movie, with entire rooms upholstered in white leather, flooring printed with clouds, spaceship-like work pods and a gallery with a mirrored floor set within a spiral.</p>
<h4>SRAM Headquarters in Chicago by Perkins + Will</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114395" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/SRAM-Office-Perkins-and-Will-2.jpg" alt="" width="1400" height="788" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114394" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/SRAM-Office-Perkins-and-Will-3.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="503" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114372" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Adobe-Headquarters-4.jpg" alt="" width="854" height="1000" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114393" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/SRAM-Office-Perkins-and-Will-4.jpg" alt="" width="640" height="427" /></p>
<p>SRAM, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of bicycle components, commissioned global firm<a href="https://perkinswill.com/"> Perkins + Will</a> to design a dynamic office environment befitting of their status. The result, set within a former cold storage warehouse in Chicago, includes a meandering 1/8-mile bicycle test track. The bike-centric space also features an outdoor terrace that wraps around the office, a cafe where workers can choose to work all day, and a variety of other open or private areas.</p>
<p>“We believe in the power of bicycles to transform lives, and, in this new space, our culture celebrates that,” says David Zimberoff, Vice President of Marketing at SRAM. “People are really stoked. How could you not walk a prospect or a new employee through here and not have them want to work here?”</p>
<h4>Airmas Asri Offices in Jakarta</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114424" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Screen-Shot-2018-06-05-at-11.53.45-AM.png" alt="" width="890" height="586" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114423" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Screen-Shot-2018-06-05-at-11.53.54-AM.png" alt="" width="888" height="522" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114421" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Screen-Shot-2018-06-05-at-11.54.09-AM.png" alt="" width="893" height="643" /></p>
<p>Have you ever daydreamed about working within a lush jungle? In Jakarta, the firm <a href="http://www.airmasasri.com/">Airmas Asri Architects </a>gave themselves a gorgeous home base in the middle of the bustling city, with greenery climbing the airy facade and filling a central courtyard. Skylights and floor-to-ceiling windows that open out onto the vegetation enhance the atmosphere.</p>

<p>Unless you happen to work at Google, your conventional office space is going to seem awfully boring compared to the slides, disappearing desks, submarine-inspired meeting pods, turfed running tracks and other unusual design choices at these 13 highly creative workplaces.</p>
<h4>Monolithic Chair-Free Office</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-73856" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/odd-office-monolithic-1-468x311.jpg" alt="odd office monolithic 1" width="468" height="311" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-73855" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/odd-office-monolithic-2-468x311.jpg" alt="odd office monolithic 2" width="468" height="311" /></p>
<p>There are no chairs to be found in this faceted office space full of sloping geometric surfaces &#8211; workers have to either stand, perch on benches or lounge. Not that they&#8217;re complaining. Developed by design studio <a href="http://www.raaaf.nl/">RAAAF</a> and visual artist <a href="http://www.barbaravisser.net/">Barbara Visser</a>, the workplace design is entitled &#8216;The End of Sitting.&#8217; &#8220;The installation’s various affordances solicit visitors to explore different standing positions in an experimental work landscape.&#8221;</p>
<h4>Wave-Like &#8216;Superdesk&#8217;</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-73854" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/odd-office-superdesk-1.jpg" alt="odd office superdesk 1" width="468" height="405" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-73853" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/odd-office-superdesk-2.jpg" alt="odd office superdesk 2" width="468" height="650" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-73852" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/odd-office-superdesk-3.jpg" alt="odd office superdesk 3" width="468" height="468" /></p>
<p>One single desk surface weaves and undulates through the office for a digital creative industry like a ribbon, rising up in spots to create arched entrances to tucked-away work areas. The glossy, gleaming &#8216;Superdesk&#8217; by <a href="http://www.clivewilkinson.com/">Clive Wilkinson Architects</a> seats all 125 employees of The Barbarian Group and transforms what would normally be considered furniture into architecture complete with roofs. The undersides of the desk offer storage, and occasionally reach heights that are tall enough to create private little alcoves.</p>
<h4>Shipping Container Offices</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-73843" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/odd-offices-pallotta-1-468x277.jpg" alt="odd offices pallotta 1" width="468" height="277" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-73842" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/odd-offices-palotta-2-468x511.jpg" alt="odd offices palotta 2" width="468" height="511" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-73841" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/odd-offices-pallotta-3-468x277.jpg" alt="odd offices pallotta 3" width="468" height="277" /></p>
<p>Clive Wilkinson and Associates also created an incredible shipping container-based work environment for <a href="http://www.pallottateamworks.com/about_apostrophe.php">Pallotta Teamworks</a> in a new and entirely empty 47,000-square-foot warehouse in Los Angeles. The firm had to do the project on half the usual budget for such a space, making it difficult to even fully air-condition it, so they came up with a creative solution: seven tented villages or &#8216;breathing islands&#8217; that are climate-controlled while the rest of the space is not.</p>
<h4>Disappearing Desks</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-73851" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/odd-office-disappearing-desks-1.jpg" alt="odd office disappearing desks 1" width="468" height="306" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-73850" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/odd-office-disappearing-desks-2.jpg" alt="odd office disappearing desks 2" width="468" height="312" /></p>
<p>There&#8217;s no danger of overworking yourself at Amsterdam design studio Hedergroen: once office hours are up, <a href="http://dornob.com/no-overtime-when-this-office-closes-the-desks-disappear/">staff desks simply disappear</a>. Computers, paperwork and other desktop items remain in place as the desks raise up to the ceiling on steel cables. When morning comes, they drop down again, resting on rolling cabinets for stability.</p>

<p>Anything from a graffiti-covered subway car to a Route 66 gas station can become the setting for creative modern offices. Architects and intrepid homeowners have converted junked buses into home offices, $20 construction trailers into backyard studios and subterranean garages into company headquarters.</p>
<h4>Slice of an Old Bus Turned Home Office<br />
<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69331" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Converted-offices-School-Bus-1.jpg" alt="Converted offices School Bus 1" width="468" height="624" /></h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69330" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Converted-Offices-School-Bus-2.jpg" alt="Converted Offices School Bus 2" width="468" height="600" /></p>
<p>One creative thinker in Hungary saw something most of us wouldn&#8217;t when he gazed at an old bus sitting in a junkyard: a corner office. That is, a home office in the corner of his bedroom, made from<a href="http://refurbished-ideas.com/old-bus-transformed-home-office/"> a sawed-off section of the bus</a>. A new paint job and working lights give the bus a fun update.</p>
<h4>Former Steel Plant to Light-Filled Work Space<br />
<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69326" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Converted-Offices-Steel-Plant-1.jpg" alt="Converted Offices Steel Plant 1" width="468" height="406" /></h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69325" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Converted-Offices-Steel-Plant-2.jpg" alt="Converted Offices Steel Plant 2" width="468" height="412" /></p>
<p>The existing shell of a former steel plant has become a wide-open industrial setting for the <a href="http://www.designboom.com/architecture/ector-hoogstad-architecten-convert-steel-plant-into-officesector-hoggstad-architects-convert-steel-plant-into-offices-02-09-2014/">offices of engineering firm IMd</a>, with sections in the two-story structure linked by foot bridges. Translucent volumes set within the large space provide quiet and private places to work and meet without sacrificing the spacious feel.</p>
<h4>Underground Garage to Architecture Studio<br />
<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69336" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Converted-Offices-Garage-1.jpg" alt="Converted Offices Garage 1" width="468" height="312" /></h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69335" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Converted-Offices-Garage-2.jpg" alt="Converted Offices Garage 2" width="468" height="312" /></p>
<p>Half-hidden by an overgrowth of ivy, all that&#8217;s visible of <a href="http://www.designboom.com/architecture/underground-garage-turned-architecture-office-by-carlo-bagliani-12-04-2013/">this architecture office</a> from ground level are a few desks and some unusual lighting. Architect Carlo Bagliani remained an underground car garage as an inhabitable workspace filled with industrial accents. A long glass wall facing the lawn prevents the subterranean space from feeling dark and cramped.</p>
<h4>Low Budget House-to-Office Conversion<br />
<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69334" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Converted-Offices-Low-Budget-House.jpg" alt="Converted Offices Low Budget House" width="468" height="600" /></h4>
<p>Austrian architecture firm <a href="http://www.bad-architects.gp/index.php?page=projectdetails&amp;projectID=105">Bad Architects</a> turned a house in Innsbruck into their own office on a tight budget using sliding-wall systems made of foam to divide the interior spaces. The foam panels feature cut-out patterns that let light pass from one space into another, and give the office visual appeal from the street.</p>
<h4>Graffiti-Covered Subway Cars to Rooftop Offices<br />
<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69324" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Converted-Offices-Subway-Cars-1.jpg" alt="Converted Offices Subway Cars 1" width="468" height="316" /></h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69323" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Converted-Offices-Subway-Cars-2.jpg" alt="Converted Offices Subway Cars 2" width="468" height="551" /></p>
<p>Graffiti-covered subway cars (or &#8216;tube carriages&#8217; as they&#8217;re known in the UK) were hauled onto a rooftop and stacked together to create offices for international arts charity <a href="http://www.villageunderground.co.uk/">Village Underground</a>. The spaces are leased to creative small businesses and art-related start-ups, who&#8217;d naturally feel right at home in a reclaimed urban space decorated with vivid street art.</p>

    <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-23422" title="coolest-offices-main" alt="" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/coolest-offices-main.jpg" width="468" height="400" /></p>
<p><!--wsa:gooold-->Why should office buildings be sprawling gray complexes in uninspired shapes, filled with depressing gray cubicles in which workers sit and long for a glimpse of nature? For a space so integral to a company&#8217;s most important functions, offices tend to be far too bland – but not these 12 buildings. Like a breath of fresh air in a stale room, the architecture of these structures is a welcome change, from high-energy urban penthouses to peaceful glass lookouts in the woods.<br />
<span id="more-23421"></span></p>
<h4>White Mountain Office, Sweden</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-23423" title="coolest-offices-white-mountain" alt="" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/coolest-offices-white-mountain.jpg" width="468" height="600" /></p>
<h6>(images via: <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/9257/pionen-%E2%80%93-white-mountain-albert-france-lanord-architects/ ">arch daily</a>)</h6>
<p>Deep underground in a former anti-atomic shelter is the White Mountain Office, a 1200-square-foot complex that exploits the jaw-dropping contrasts between raw, rustic rock faces and the sleek curvature of modern glass and steel architecture. Albert France-Lanord Architects admit that science fiction films and even James Bond served as inspiration for the office structure, saying “The client is an internet provider and the rock shelter hosts server halls and offices. The starting point of the project was to consider the rock as a living organism. The humans try to acclimate themselves to this foreign world and bring the ‘best’ elements from earth: light, plants, water and technology.”</p>
<h4>Saxo Bank Office Building, Denmark</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-23424" title="coolest-offices-saxo-bank" alt="" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/coolest-offices-saxo-bank.jpg" width="468" height="540" /></p>
<h6>(images via: <a href="http://www.newhouseofart.com/amazing-headquarters-saxo-bank-office-architecture-design-copenhagen-3xn-architects/">new house of art</a>)</h6>
<p>Based online, Saxo Bank is a financial institution for the modern age, so it makes sense that its office headquarters would be thoroughly of the 21st century, unlike many banks which were founded centuries ago and retain those old-fashioned aesthetics. Though the exterior may be a bit harsh with all of its sharp angles, the interior is softened by a towering spiral staircase that serves as its focal point.</p>
<h4>Stecklehorn Office Complex, Germany</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-23425" title="coolest-offices-stecklehorn" alt="" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/coolest-offices-stecklehorn.jpg" width="468" height="515" /></p>
<h6>(images via: <a href="http://www.architecturesdesign.com/2010/06/22/amazing-architecture-steckelhorn-office-complex-11-by-j-h-mayer/">architecture design</a>)</h6>
<p>The center of old Hamburg in Germany isn&#8217;t exactly a hopping spot for ultra-modern architecture, but all the better for the somewhat bizarre Stecklehorn Office Complex, built by J.H. Mayer for Alstadt Cogiton Projeckt. The contrast between its sloping white surfaces and the aged look of the historic buildings beside it serve to make it even more eye-catching.</p>
<h4>Vodafone Headquarters, Portugal</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-23426" title="coolest-offices-vodafone" alt="" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/coolest-offices-vodafone.jpg" width="468" height="600" /></p>
<h6>(image via: <a href="http://www.canonuleague.com/ultra-modern-unique-vodafone-head-office-architecture-design-portugal/">canonuleague.com</a>)</h6>
<p>“Life in Motion” &#8211; that&#8217;s the slogan for Vodafone, one of the world&#8217;s largest communications companies, and it seems to be illustrated well in the design of their headquarters in Portugal. Like some living being that could get up at any moment and walk away, the asymmetrical building is somehow organic despite its angularity. Three of the building&#8217;s tiered floors sit beneath the ground. <a href="http://www.dezeen.com/2009/11/23/vodafone-headquarters-by-barbosa-guimaraes/ ">The architects, Barbosa &amp; Guimaraes, say</a> “Seeking inspiration from painting, sculpture, photography, arts which had already faced this dilemma, the office building, designed usually linear, begins to become an irregular body, out of balance, with many faces in motion.”</p>

<p>What else would you expect from the signature beverage of the hyperactive than an office building featuring a gigantic slide? Outfitted in the brand&#8217;s red, blue and silver color scheme (along with plenty of steel), the building is thoroughly modern and adult yet retains a sense of playfulness.</p>
<h4>Pixar Offices, California</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-23428" title="coolest-offices-pixar" alt="" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/coolest-offices-pixar.jpg" width="468" height="304" /></p>
<h6>(images via: <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/veerles-blog/461586084/ ">veerle pieters</a>)</h6>
<p>For a team as creative as Pixar, an ordinary office environment certainly won&#8217;t do. Luckily, the company provides its programmers, artists and other employees with suitably zany, colorful, personalized little &#8216;huts&#8217; in lieu of cubicles. It&#8217;s almost like having your own “tiny house” inside the Pixar building, for all the privacy you need yet easy access to all the other cool features at Pixar headquarters.</p>
<h4>Studiometrico Bastard Store &amp; Office, Italy</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-23429" title="coolest-offices-bastard-store" alt="" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/coolest-offices-bastard-store.jpg" width="468" height="600" /></p>
<h6>(images via:<a href="http://www.bastard.it/ "> bastard.it</a>)</h6>
<p>Skateboarders aren&#8217;t exactly the types to happily sit indoors in a boring office environment all day. More than likely, they&#8217;re daydreaming of spacious skate parks – which they would have right there at work if they were employees at the offices of Bastard Store, a skateboarding equipment company in Milan. The sleek and modern building features at its heart a full-size indoor skate park that hovers 18 feet above the ground.</p>
<h4>Las Palmas Penthouse Building, The Netherlands</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-23430" title="coolest-offices-las-palmas-penthouse" alt="" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/coolest-offices-las-palmas-penthouse.jpg" width="468" height="600" /></p>
<h6>(images via: <a href="http://www.benthemcrouwel.nl/portal_presentation/offices/penthouse ">benthamcrouwel.nl</a>)</h6>
<p>As if having a beautiful view of the river in Rotterdam weren&#8217;t enough, employees who spend their days at the Las Palmas penthouse building in the Netherlands get to do so in a structure that is a work of art in itself. Designed by Bentham Crouwel Architects, the penthouse is an elliptical-shaped add-on to the roof of the Las Palmas building, standing on 18-foot supports with a vast, open view from a giant wall of windows. Inside, the curved shape gives it the feel of an immense airplane.</p>
<h4>Selgas Cano Architecture Office, Spain</h4>

<h6>(images via: <a href="http://www.iwan.com/Selgas_Cano_Office_Madrid.php ">iwan baan</a>)</h6>
<p>Everyone needs a window in their office so they can take a moment every now and then to gaze out at nature for a while and recharge before getting back to work. But what if half of your office building&#8217;s roof were open to the sky, framed by a canopy of trees? The <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/21049/selgas-cano-architecture-office-by-iwan-baan/">Selgas Cano Architecture</a> office building in Madrid is set partially into the ground with one side entirely transparent, giving employees the ideal inspiration to design more incredibly architectural masterpieces.</p>
<h4>Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Slovenia</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-23432" title="coolest-offices-slovenia-chamber-of-commerce" alt="" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/coolest-offices-slovenia-chamber-of-commerce.jpg" width="468" height="600" /></p>
<h6><span style="text-decoration: underline;">(images via: <a href="http://www.sadarvuga.com/php/project.php?id=15">sadar vuga</a>)</span></h6>
<p>Known mostly for its old world architecture and breathtaking mountains, the Eastern European nation of Slovenia may not seem like the most obvious setting for a stunning modern building like this – but in fact, this beautiful glass structure is home to those tasked with bringing in visitors and revenue, and it certainly makes a good impression. The architects, Sadar Vuga, say “By retaining the huge public forecourt, the programme along the existing building is verticalized, thus giving it a new façade, designed like boxes piled on top of each other.”</p>
<h4>Treetop Office, Washington</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-23433" title="coolest-offices-treetop-washington" alt="" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/coolest-offices-treetop-washington.jpg" width="468" height="600" /></p>
<h6>(images via: <a href="http://www.inhabitat.com/2009/08/05/treetop-office-eat-your-heart-out-cubicle-warrior/ ">inhabitat</a>)</h6>
<p>Anyone who has ever sat in a windowless cubicle for eight hours a day knows how powerful the desire to see a single green leaf can be. But imagine if this were your daily view as you accomplished your tasks at work – golden sunlight on towering trees, with a lake and a wooded hill in the background. Customer experience consultant Peter Frazier built this inspirational treetop office after decades of feeling disconnected from nature.</p>
<h4>Galiliee, France</h4>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-23434" title="coolest-offices-galilee" alt="" src="https://weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/coolest-offices-galilee.jpg" width="468" height="600" /></p>
<h6>(images via: <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/71453/galilee-studio-bellencour-architects/ ">arch daily</a>)</h6>
<p>The combination of static, neutral-colored geometric shapes and a dynamic white band of concrete give the &#8216;Galilee&#8217; office building near Toulouse, France a sense of hushed expectation – of precarious balance between the formal and informal, the mundane and the surprising. The slatted facade of the building is actually a sunshade that lets in plenty of natural daylight while also keeping the interior cool.</p>
