Future Skyscraper Farm Designs
Though only one of these is in the planning (in Las Vegas of all places) the idea of a skyscraper farm is being increasingly considered by prominent architects, builders and developers around the world. The advantages are numerous. A skyscraper farm brings food to the heart of the city – a sustainable solution to transportation costs and energy expenditures. Building vertically minimizes the footprint of buildings and maximizes internal production areas as well as creating the possibility for multistory spaces as needed for different growing conditions. For now, many consider such projects cost-prohibitive but as building and growing technologies evolve you may find a skyscraper farm on your own city skyline soon enough. (Source)
