From the amazingly stylized and visually complex results of Patrick Rochon’s work one would never guess that he does nothing to tweak negative or prints after a single exposure is finished. So how does he achieve such depth and variety? Quite simply he opens the lens and lets the shot go on as long as it takes – from 5 seconds to 30 minutes – and captures everything that happens in between, illuminating his subjects in a vast variety of ways while the camera dutifully records the process.
