Treeplets Structure by Impromptu Projects

Mimicking the rarity of identical triplets in the form of three trees, this series of canopies by Impromptu Projects provides shade, promotes local bamboo craftsmanship and acts as an unexpectedly organic landmark in an urban area. Bamboo was chosen because it’s recyclable and renewable.

Bamboo Playhouse by Eleena Jamil Architect

Consisting of a series of platforms at various heights and a roof canopy with a few suspended ‘treehouse baskets,’ this bamboo playhouse in Kuala Lumpur by Eleena Jamil Architect sits at the edge of a lake in the Perdana Botanical Gardens. The structure is derived from that of traditional vernacular buildings called ‘wakaf,’ which are freestanding shelters meant to be used freely by anyone in the community to rest and enjoy some shade.
